And so 2014’s challenge draws to a close. I know there are a few days left yet (some of them being holidays), but most of that time for me will be spent moving house, so painting isn’t going to be something that’s happening much, if at all. I wanted the last miniature to have a sort of Christmas tie-in, and the closest I could find is the Nisse sniper from the Infinity Operation:Icestorm box (it’s more winter themed, given that Nisses are from the arctic planet of Svalarheima).
As a sectorial, Svalarheima doesn’t exist yet, though its colours can be seen in the studio paintjobs of the Nisse – black armour highlights and light grey clothing. These go well enough with the standard blue-grey armour.
The Nisse is a medium infantry unit, designed to win firefights against stealthy enemies. It has a multispectral visor, cancelling out the penalties for discovering and attacking camouflaged enemies, as well as having Mimetism itself, reducing the ability of enemies to hit it. They have above average stats and armour, and even have multiterrain – an ability that lets them pick one type of terrain (mountains, water, desert etc) and ignore penalties associated with those terrain pieces.
Challenge Tally: 400/400
I will do a summary of what’s been painted this year in a future post.
