Yeah, so I tailed off somewhat at the back end of 2012 there, and didn’t get much achieved during December. I think it helped having a fixed goal of “finish my Mid Nor”, then “finish my Wolfen” (both of which did happen), but then I had an empty painting desk and found it tricky to work out what to fill it with, in the end going with nothing. Still, new year, new challenges, etc etc, and I’m going to try and make another, more sizable dent in my mountain of a painting backlog. I did a quick count of how many models I have sitting around, and it doesn’t look pretty:
- Dreadball: 36
- DropZone Commander: 38
- Hell Dorado: 21
- Cutlass: 18
- Urban War: 28
- Lord of the Rings: 9 (literally the Fellowship plus a display base)
- Epic: 30
- Uncharted Seas: 30
- Confrontation: 200+
- Warlord Romans: 150+
- Kings of War Undead: 250+
My plan is to try and tackle these from the smallest collection to the largest, so I’m going to try and start with the individual Dreadball teams I have (10 models each), then move onto finishing off a few of the Skirmish game ranges I have. I have a second gaming resolution to not purchase anything gamey in 2013 except essentials (paints, brushes, dropships, etc) so beyond what’s coming from various Kickstarter projects (Kings of War and Dreadball) I’ll hopefully not be adding too much to the list.
I have a target of 300 miniatures to paint this calendar year across all ranges. Let’s see how it goes.
